Art Deco Mahogany Butler Bellboy Card Tray Stand

Description

Designed to hold ones business or calling cards, the small circular tray supported by a stained and painted pedestal in the form of a negro serving boy in livery with applied buttons on a moulded rectangular platform plinth base.

The overall condition would be described as fair to good, the tray has had repairs and there are one or two areas of loss to the veneer mouldings but as a whole the stand has survived well elsewhere with a good colour and no record of infestation.

The term Art Deco encompasses the distinctive styles in art, architecture and design, and is typified by bright bold colours, and stylized designs derived from the onset of industrialism, as well as artistic movements such as modernism, cubism, and futurism. It is one of the best loved, most influential, instantly recognisable, international, and elegant of all artistic periods.

This stylish butler will not fall asleep, trip over and drop any of your belongings, or moan about low wages plus he’s always smiling. What’s not to like?
