Carved & Painted Oak 17thC Style Wall Cupboard

Description

In the seventeenth century style, having two profusely carved panelled doors with floral sprays and grape bunches, the double cherub mask brass drop handles opening to reveal two separate cupboard spaces with a shelf to each, the doors bordered with rope twists under a cornice with lozenge ornament, the piece dating to the first quarter of the twentieth century.

The overall colour is an eighteenth century inspired off white over an 1830s inspired light blue and the condition is sound with the paint distressed. There is a patch to the top of the cupboard that is blemished darker and a rogue coffee stain. All part of the charm we say. The oak itself is in good condition and the piece could happily be wall mounted.

An attractive and well-made cupboard, perhaps a perfect size for a bathroom cabinet.
