Doe and Hope

Description

The ash carcass having an arrangement of five drawers, four short over one long, the short drawers in two sizes, all with parquetry inlaid fronts in softwoods with ebony knob handles, sitting on a skirt base. The design of the draw fronts is split symmetrically and diagonally between a chequerboard and a segmental design.

The condition is sound, there are some old repairs and one of the knob handles is a later replacement and is thus very slightly larger than the rest. The patina is good and the draws glide well.

A quirky piece of miniature furniture that is both functional and decorative.
