GOOD QUALITY, RARE GEORGIAN, ENGLISH STERLING SILVER BRANDY PAN & COVER, LONDON c1821.
A very fine and rare, English Sterling Silver Large Brandy Pan or Sauce Pan & Cover made by Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I, London and dating from c1821.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "RE/EB" for Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I, the Monarchs Head duty mark, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head crowned London town mark and date letter "f" for 1821/22.
The cover with hinged piece at the spout allowing the liquid to be poured without removing the cover.
In excellent condition.
This is larger than the normal Brandy pan size, measuring 4 1/2" inches (115mm) in height to the finial (excluding handle). It measures 3 3/4" (90mm) in diameter.
The weight is 388.1g/13.68oz/12.47ozt.
