Description

This is a wonderful original Art Deco watercolour of bathing beauties by artist and illustrator Ernest Prater. The painting depicts three women in a cave about to go swimming in the sea. The painting has a travel poster design feel to it, but can find no record of this image being used in advertising.

Prater spent a lot of time in Newquay and this most likely depicts a Cornish beach. It is beautifully executed and oozes Art Deco appeal.

The painting is watercolour on board and is offered framed and glazed in a modern white wood frame, it is signed and dated lower right by the artist. The painting is 23.5cm x 15.5cm and the frame is 38.5cm x 31cm.

Condition

The condition is good / very good. There is some light spotting around the middle of the image.
