Description

A good early 8" mahogany Sheraton wheel barometer. The mahogany veneered case is fitted with an architectural pediment, long thermometer box and is inlaid with good shell and flower paterea. The edge of the case is outlined with chequered stringing and the deep sides are cross grain veneered, also note the elongated base of the case, all signs of an early wheel barometer. The well engraved and silvered 8" dial is signed J.B. Nolli & Co, Edinburgh c.1825
