Large carved antique Black Forest cuckoo clock depicting the theme of the "Fox”. The wily fox who desires a grape.
Carvings of bunches of grapes,fox and foliage etc
It features a charming painted cuckoo bird which animates from behind it's little door and sings in the half hour and hour(a succession of 'cuckoo' calls, corresponding to the time of day).
The clock also has a corresponding gong striking the hours.
Arched door above the XII opening to a fully articulated, decorated Cuckoo bird. ringed chapter ring with Roman numerals and carved hands. Thirty hour chain driven movement with original pine cone weights.
