Description

An 1900s mahogany shop display cabinet, most likely originally used within a draper’s, haberdashery, or general retail setting for the display of small goods.

The cabinet is constructed from solid mahogany and fitted with two glass doors, opening to 2 glass shelves for display. The cabinet retains a interior mirrored back panel, a feature often used in shop fittings to reflect light and create the illusion of greater depth while allowing items to be viewed from multiple angles.

With its shallow proportions, the cabinet would have been ideal for displaying smaller boxed goods such as haberdashery items, gloves, perfume bottles, or other small retail stock commonly found in early 20th-century shops. The interior is fitted with a chrome adjustable shelving, which appears to be a later addition during the cabinet’s working life, allowing for more flexible display.

Today the piece works beautifully as a display cabinet in a shop, home interior, or hospitality setting, offering plenty of character while remaining highly practical.

Comes with 2 glass shelves.
