English Baroque Lead Urn, Bulbeck Foundry, 1880

Description
A fine Baroque style lead urn.Displaying a pair of handles in the form of female caryatids and acanthus leaves, framing a gadrooned urn, decorated with a cherub, presented on a decorative circular base.
The piece being beautifully patinated & displaying well.
While showing signs of age it is in very good condition.
The base having a vacant hole for drainage.
Such is the demand for this model of urn that it is still in production from it's original foundry the 'Bulbeck Foundry'
Today it is catalogued as The William and Mary Urn.
The foundry's leadwork can be found in the gardens of Sandringham, Balmoral, Clarence House, Hampton Court Palace, Chatsworth, Dumfries House, houses belonging to the National Trust and numerous other great houses as well as Ralph Lauren's flagship store in Milan and Christian Dior's shop in New Bond Street, London.
Of course, you could buy it new but it won't have this patination for about 150 years!
