Created by Adrian Hughes, this impressive model of an elephant and her calf was commissioned by Royal Doulton as part of their 'Images of Fire' series. It is called 'Motherhood', and was only available between 1995 and 1997. This example is in very good condition with no evidence of scratching or repair. There is a barely visible nibble to the leading edge of the mother's front right foot (see photograph). The model measures 22cm in height by 26cm in length.
