Description

This delightful model of an elephant and her calf was designed by Eric Griffiths for Royal Doulton and produced in the familiar red flambé glaze between 1990 and 1996, as Model 3789 and HN3548, 'Elephant and Young'. It was part of the 'Images of Fire' series. This rare example in a blue/white and green flambé glaze is a prototype of that model and is signed by 'Eric Griffiths'. It is in excellent condition with no evidence of damage or repair. It is 8.3cm in height.
