The first collection of Beatrix Potter character figurines was produced by the Beswick company in 1948. There were ten of the most popular characters in this first run. 'Little Pig Robinson' was one of them. It was modelled by well-known Beswick modeller, Arthur Gredington. This example is the first version issued in 1948, which ran until 1974 as Model No. 1104. It has a BP1a gold backstamp, which was in use from 1948 to 1954. There is some crackling to the glaze (not uncommon in these early figures). It is 4" (10cm) in height and no chips, damage or restoration are evident. Overall, it is in very good condition.
