Description

This is a good quality silver travelling inkwell with a button operated sprung, hinged cover further secured by a hook. The lid is silver gilt inside. The original glass inkwell is undamaged and fits snugly. All hinges and fastenings work correctly. The hallmark is for London 1906. The maker's mark is worn but careful scrutiny reveals it to be that of 'Grey & Co.' All main components carry assay marks. The cover is engraved 'Phyllis'. There are a couple of small dents to the case and a scuff mark to the inner cover. None of these detract from the overall quality of the piece. It measures 5cm x 5cm.
