Description

This delightful little vinaigrette was made by one of the well known Birmingham silversmiths of the 19th century, Thomas Shaw, in 1831. It is designed as a satchel with brightcut decoration and a small vacant cartouche. The gilded interior has a floral grille and is hallmarked to the inside of both the lid and the base. The hinges are good and fit snugly. It is 2cm long.
