Description

This exquisite little porcelain plaque measuring just 3.5cm x 4.5cm. shows a view of the Severn Bridge at Worcester with the Cathedral, the spire of St. Andrew's Church and the Porcelain Works in the background. It was made by George Grainger & Co of Worcester. The puce back stamp dates it for between 1840 and 1860. It is not signed. The plaque is mounted in velvet (green to the front and brown to the reverse). A window has been cut in the reverse to show the back stamp. It is framed under glass in a gold coloured metal frame (11cm x 8.5cm) designed to hang or stand and is in overall excellent condition.
