Description

A rare watercolour on board by the highly regarded Royal Worcester Ceramics artist, William Ricketts (1862-1950). This painting depicts peaches, cherries and harebells and is signed 'W. Ricketts'. (to differentiate from his ceramics signature of 'Ricketts'). His signature and address are also written on paper inside the wooden back of the frame. The picture is in an oval mount within the original gilded metal 'ARCO' 8"x6" frame.

William Ricketts was one of the most highly regarded Royal Worcester fruit painters of his time. He was also a skilled water-colourist and his work was exhibited at the Royal Academy
