Description

Stunning very large late 19th century Indian bronze statue of a Hindu Goddess,c1880. Given the quality of the casting it is most probably from Rajasthan and depicts the goddess Daivika Apsara. It is very heavy at 30kg and stands on an integral raised base. The bronze has taken on great colour/patina and is decorated with brass/gilt highlights. The shaping and form of the body is very good with the features and fine detail have been well executed. It presents very well as a standalone decorative piece and is in excellent condition.
