Description

Large and fine mid 19th century Chinese bronze and cloisonne censer,c1850. This is an impressive example standing at 43cm tall and weighing 5kg. The handles are stylised elephant masks with extended trunks, the tripod legs are also in the form of Elephant masks and the pierced lid is topped with a lovely Elephant statue with raised trunk. This is topped with a finial containing a semi precious stone. The main body, Elephant statue and pierced lid have great cloisonne decoration and the enamel work is still vibrant with strong colours. The bronze itself has also taken on great colour and overall condition is good with no obvious issues.
