Description

Large and heavy (4.2kg) mid 19th century cast iron Royal coat of arms,c1850. Beautifully cast it bears the motto 'Dieu et mon droit' which means God is right which is the motto of the monarch of the United Kingdom and has been since King Richard 1 (1157-1199). The coat of arms features a lion to the left of the central shield with a unicorn on the right. There is a crown finial topped with a lion bearing a crown. It has great colour/patina and works well as a standalone decorative piece .Overall condition is good with only minor surface rust as you would expect from a piece of this age.
