Description

Fine early 19th century coloured wax miniature portrait of the Duke of Wellington (1769-1852),c1820. Well composed and executed the wax profile is in good condition with good detail to the features and clothes etc. It is housed in what appears to be an original frame . There is a label to the rear which refers to Wellington and gives an artists name but it is too badly faded to make out with any certainty (Noiu or similar?). There is a small crack in the internal glass surround on which the wax sits but otherwise condition is very good given its age.
