Description

Early 20th century African bronze gold pot,c1920. Most probably from the Ashanti tribal area it is well cast in the lost wax method and weighs 1.3kg. The decoration is lovely with geometric patterns, masks and snakes/buffalo horn motifs over the body and lid. It stands on raised feet and has a tribal figure playing a drum as the finial on the lid. It has great colour with the bronze showing the green Verdigris marking you would expect from an older piece. Overall condition is good in line with age and use.
