Description

Large 19th century Tibetan incense burner, c1890. This is a very fine example, probably from a temple, well cast and heavy at almost 3kg. The main body is copper and there are silver / white metal embellishments all over the body and lid. The decoration is very intricate with a central finial and two hounds on the pierced lid. The main body is decorated with dragons on one side and Buddhistic emblems on the other. The end of the lid is decorated with birds and the main body with masks. It still has its original liner. A highly decorative piece which will display well in a modern or traditional setting. Overall condition is good in line with age and use.
