Description

Lovely large Chinese bronze incense burner,c1890. In figural form it depicts a man astride an Ox and is mounted on a marble base. The man detaches from the Ox when you loosen a screw to enable you to put incense in the void created in the body of the Ox. The statue is well cast with good detail to the Ox head and mans features etc and is heavy for its size at 2 kg. Overall condition is good in line with age and use with just a few very minor signs of wear and use.
