Description

Pair of large late 19th century Chinese bronze incense burners, c1890.These are fine examples, well cast and heavy with the pair weighing 6.3kg. They stand proudly on figural supports in the form of mythical birds/Phoenix and the lids are topped with Temple Lions/Fo Dogs. The rims are of castellated form and they have lovely stylised handles. The main body has different decorative panels to each side depicting birds and foliage. They have great colour/patina and overall condition is very good with no obvious defects.
