Description

Large African ceremonial bronze goblet,c1950. Most probably from the Tikar tribal area (Cameroon) this is a highly stylised ,heavy (3kg), well cast example which would have had significant ceremonial importance. The main body is decorated in tribal masks, with stylised protruding handles. It stands on tripod legs and unusual mask feet. It has taken on a nice patina and is an imposing piece of tribal art.
