Description

Large 19th century Indian bronze/brass statue of the Hindu god Ganesh, c 1890. This is a finely cast impressive piece with real presence, standing on a wood base. The detail and composition is very good. I think given the weight (4.2 kg) it is bronze with a brass patination but it could be brass. It is in good original condition and has aged well with good colour/patina. There is slight movement if you apply pressure to the base ,it is most likely secured to the base with bolts which just need tightening so very minor.
