Description

A very good early 17th century original John Speed hand engraved and coloured map of Flintshire, dated 1610. Depicts Flint castle, St Asaph Cathedral and St Winifred’s Well, Holywell.
Excellent vibrancy to the map for his age as shown lower right.

The reverse of the map is visible and portrays alphabetically the towns as marked on the map.
Condition is overall good, there are some superficial watermarks to the reverse but does not detract from it’s image.

Framed and glazed and measures 53.5 x 41.5 cm.
