Description

Fabulous pair of large Renaissance revival carved walnut armchairs c.1900. Elaborately carved and pierced cresting rails featuring winged cherub grotesques over canework panels within foliate carved frames. Twist carved rear stiles topped with pomegranate finials and long arms with scrolling acanthus leaf terminals. Over canework seats with carved rails, raised on twist legs and stretchers. Decorative front stretchers below the seat carved to match the cresting rails. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
