Description

Early 19th.c. North Wales oak cloak or tack cupboard c.1820. Two door cupboard top (internal depth 15″) fitted inside with 12 wooden hooks for hanging coats etc. Separate base with two short and one long drawer (the top row being dummy fronts allowing extra hanging length inside the top). Moulded cornice over inlaid diamond and dot detail of a style associated with the market town of Talwrn on Anglesey. Flat door panels within a simple moulded surround, bone inlaid escutcheons and brass knobs. Note how the inlay is repeated between the drawers on the base. Later brass swan neck handles. Deal panelled sides and rear. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied. Could be fitted with a hanging rail or shelves if preferred.
