Here we have an absolutely stunning George II Walnut bureau c1740. This is the best of its type and the best we have ever had through our hands. Not only it is of the finest quality but is also the best colour and patina that can be gained from Walnut of this period. The top has super grain and colour and the fall front also has the best toffee caramel colour. The original lock and key is in place and the fall front opens to reveal a stunning fitted interior. There are secret drawers and complicated shaped fronts to the other drawers showing a true cabinet makers hand. The main drawers have herring bone inlay and retain their original brass handles and escutcheons. The drawers are all Oak lined with hand cut dove tail joints. The whole sits on original ogee bracket feet. A truly beautiful bureau in excellent retail condition ready to take pride of place in any home. The dimensions are approx 102 cm wide 104 cm high 50 cm deep.
