Description

Gilt 1796 pattern Officers sword. Please note that there is no scabbard with this sword. Has a gilt bronze hilt with embossed decoration on pommel and guard and with a silver wire bound wooden grip. Straight, etched blade with GR and cipher, foliage and trophies of arms. Engraved on the spine with J J Runkel, Solingen. Blade is lightly stained overall with some areas of pitting but in good, solid condition overall. There is slight wear to the gilding on the hilt.

Approximately 99cm overall and blade 81.5cm.
