1796 Pattern Sword In Leather Scabbard

Description

1796 pattern sword in its brass mounted original leather scabbard. Has a gilded brass hilt with silver wire bound grip. Scabbard is engraved as by 'Goldney Late Neild St James St Cutler to his Royal Highness Prince of Wales'. There is an steel, single edged blade which is engraved with GR, Coat of Arms and foliage. Blade is signed on the back strap J Runkel Solingen. There is general wear over overall with rust staining to blade. Leather scabbard is broken approximately 7cm for the end shape.

Approximately 101cm overall and blade 82cm.
