Blue & Gilt 1796 pattern Infantry Officers Sword. Note there is no scabbard with this sword but just two of the scabbard mounts. Has a gilded brass hilt with solid Butterfly guard and a silver wire bound grip. Blue & Gilt, single edged, tapering blade with gilt Trophies of arms, Royal Coat of Arm and GR with crown. Makers mark engraved on Chape for Bergey of Haymarket London.

In good, sound condition overall and with some rusting to the edge of the blade.

Approximately 101cm overall and blade 83cm.
