Description

French Officers Mess shell display circa 1870. Cast iron shell head surmounted by a oak carved French Imperial Eagle. The Eagle is detachable. Stands on a circular oak turned based decorated with carved lions heads and swags. On the front of the shell case an oak decorative mount with a crown, an 'E' and draped flags all carved in oak. The shell and oak stand is held together with an iron bolt.
In generally good condition except for slight damage to the spike terminals of some of the flags. Weight approximately 13kg.

Height approximately 56cm and maximum width and depth 24cm.
