Description

17th century Walloon Riding sword. Note there is no scabbard with this sword. Has an iron basket hilt with brass ferruled wooden grip. Pierced guard with large thumb ring to reverse side. Double edged, tapering blade with makers name (worn) on one side and the latin inscription 'Me fecit' on the reverse side. Has groups of stars hammered into the blade. Wear and patina overall. There is a split to wooden grip but all in solid condition. Made in the Netherlands or Belgium.

Approximately 98.5cm overall and blade 83cm.
