Description

1796 pattern Infantry Officers sword retailed by Tatham. One of the scabbards brass mounts is engraved with '37 Charing Cross near the Admiralty' and 'Tatham to his majesty'. Gilded brass hilt with folding guard. Silver wire bound grip. Engraved steel blade, with GR, Flowers and coat of Arms. Blade marked as made by Runkel, Solingen. Note the leather scabbard is a modern copy which is loose on the sword and end chape is missing. Gilding worn overall.

Approximately 100cm overall and blade 82.5cm.
