A fabulous Carolean Hallway Chair, with Oak frame and Walnut supports. Circa 1680.

This superb hallway chair is exquisitely decorated in the typical Baroque fashion of the Carolean era. Featuring barley twist supports made from finest walnut, and carved in reliefs of cherubs, a central crown and various floral motifs adorning the framework.

The chair is sat over 4 block feet, decorated by more floral carvings and are united by a barley twist 'H' pattern stretcher. The cane back rest and seat base have recently been revitalised and replaced, making this a wonderfully versatile and usable example.
