Description
A sweet, Elizabethan English Oak Coffer on legs. Circa 1590.This smaller size coffer, sat over 4 square form legs (added at a later period) boasts intricate carved relief of flower head stems, flanked either side by a chequer patterned moulded edge, along the hinged lid.
The front is decorated in the same fashion, with intricately carved flower head stems, where the ends of the chest each feature a carved spiral scroll motif, made to look like a single flower.
