Description

A very handsome Nuremberg Armada chest mounted on a later period lattice iron stand.

This glorious example is made from wrought iron, and features a large carry handle at each end, staples on the front for extra padlocks, and a dummy lock situated centrally between the two.

On the top of the lid, a small rotating panel swivels to reveal a single turn key lock, which, when operated with the key moves the fully working mechanism underneath.

A fine working example, suitable for an entrance hall or study.
