Description

A giant single weight Vienna regulator in an imposing ebonised architectural case.

The unsigned 8-day movement has tapered plates, and is numbered 42098. The backplate has a bayonet fit to the case mount. The serial number also 42098 appears on the dial backing plate, the case movement mount, and pendulum top, confirming their originality.

The movement has a dead beat escapement, maintaining power, and beat adjustment screw, the weight pulley having five crossings - a sign of a higher quality movement than average.

The 9-inch two piece white enamel dial has Roman numerals within an outer minute track, and subsidiary seconds dial to the centre.

Ebonised wood rod pendulum suspended from the backboard, the 8-inch polished brass bob with inset rating nut, and with an enamel degree arc scale.
