Description

A good quality antique fusee dial clock in a mahogany case with convex surround.

The 12 inch white painted Roman dial is in nice original condition, with marks just showing where the dial rivets join from behind.

The timepiece 8-day movement has a chain fusee, the pendulum with a very substantial solid brass bob.

The cast brass bezel is fitted with flat glass and locks shut by means of a latch at the back of the dial surround.

Unusually, the back box (into which the movement and dial are fitted by means of four wooden pegs) has three access doors, the usual ones at the base and side, but also a large rear door which gives much easier access to the pendulum for hanging. The base door is fitted with a lock.
