Description

A fine Regency wheel barometer by a well-known maker.
The mahogany case has an architectural pediment with a brass pineapple finial in the classical style.

The case is a lovely dark mahogany brown, edged with a double line of contrasting boxwood stringing and with marquetry fan inlay. It is fitted with long thermometer box with silvered brass scale and alcohol filled tube over the barometer.

The 8 inch silvered dial is signed for J. Samalvico, 125 Holborn Hill, LONDON with a blued steel hand.

The cast brass bezel is fitted with flat glass and a polished brass pointer hand.
