Description

This is a good quality Mid-Century Cased Set of Six Silver Plate Cake or Pastry Forks and a Serving Fork. The forks are decorated with a floral motif at the tops of the stems. The box has a blue faux snakeskin covering with white satin lining the lid and blue satin lining the base with a blue velvet bar holding the forks.

There is no makers' mark on the forks or box so we cannot say who made them but they are British and date to around the 1950s to 1970s.

Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the minimal surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. There a few small scuff marks on the outside of the box but the hinges and clasps are in full working order.

Each cake fork is 13.9cm / 5.5ins long and the serving fork is 14.4cm / 5.7ins long. The seven pieces together, uncased, weigh in at 129.1g / 4.5oz and boxed up they weigh 348g / 12.3oz.

Each fork is stamped on the back with E P N S for silver plate.
