Description

This is a charming Mid-Century Silver Plate Cake Basket. The swing handled basket is circular with eight pierced convex panels around a centre decorated with scrolling flowers and foliage. It stands on three ball feet and has a barley twist handle.

The basket is unmarked, so we cannot say or made it but it is British and dates to around the 1950s/60s.

Condition is good, with no dings, dents or damage, no significant plate loss and just the overall superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. The swing handle operates smoothly. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The basket is 17.2cm / 6.8ins in diameter and stands 13.5cm / 5.3ins high with the handle in the upright position. It weighs 165g / 5.8oz.
