Victorian Country House Letter / Photo Frame.
This fabulous Mahogany Frame has Ebonised beading & is completed with a gilt bronze ribbon effect decoration at the top.
At the upper part of the frame there are 2 circular coloured prints of a Sheherd boy & a shepherdess each set in a gilded & embossed leather frame work.
The mulitple sections for placing letters or photos is of green watered silk of which there are 4 pockets.The frame can be free standing or hung. The photos show that the back is removable to allow change of letters/photos.
This would have had pride of place in a quality country house.
Condition is very good,some wear to the free standing flap at back. A Rare survivor from a bygone age.
