Silversmith: Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd (makers mark partially rubbed)

Assay office: Birmingham (possibly assay marks not visible)

Year of manufacture: 1895 (unusual shape of letter V is a match for Birmingham date letter for 1895)

Weight: 15 grams

Diameter: 4 cm

Condition report:

This box is in overall good order with age related wear. There are some knocks particularly to the base, surface scratches and deep tarnish marks round the edges, inside the box and on the base, examine the photos carefully as this forms part of the condition report. The hallmarks to the base are only partially visible.

The box exudes quality workmanship and sophisticated design culminating in a extremely elegant and fine piece of Victorian silver.

This would be a fabulous addition to one's antique silverware collection.
