A stunning and rare pair of large Campana Urns with satyrs masks from the English Foundry Andrew Handyside Company (Britannia Iron Works, Derby) c.1880

The campana style urn has decorative open loop and satyrs mask handles on a deeply gadrooned bowl set upon a raised spreading socle foot. The body with a lobed everted rim is decorated with a foliate frieze accentuating the overall relief and detail.

Cast iron with original flaky white paint. These urns are illustrated as Urn No.1 in the Handyside Catalogue of 1874.

The quality of the casting is superb, the condition of the urns is very good, no losses or breaks, just aged paintwork
