large 1930s Smith Sectric wall clock

Description

Large Smith Sectric wall clock - having a face diameter of just under 12 inches and overall diameter of some 15 inches. For many years this hung on the wall of A.J. Wheaton, the long established but now defunct Exeter printers. The entire clock is in original and unrestored condition including the steel case which has it, now distressed, 'bronzed' finish. Movement too is the original and bears evidence of a repair having been carried out in February 1940. We have successfully connected it to mains so as to ascertain whether or not it is operational although a new cable could be sensible plus, perhaps, a precautionary internal clean and lubrication before it is returned to full time service. Alternatively, if originality of its workings are not an issue a modern battery powered movement could very cheaply be substituted. Price includes insured postage to any mainland UK address.
