We have for sale a very simple but attractive 1920s christening cup by William Suckling Ltd

This silver Christening in the form of a simple plain small mug but carries an engraving to the front along with the date 1927. The cup carries full Birmingham Hallmarks for 1926-1927 along with the makers marks for William Suckling Ltd.

The cup is (6cm)high, 7cm in diameter and 8.5cm wide including the handle. The cup weighs 84.2g according to our electronic scales and is in a very good condition other than the light surface wear one would expect from a piece of this age.However, there is a small pinprick indentation beneath the hallmark. This mark has proved very difficult to photograph but it can just about be made out in picture 3 where it shows up as a small circular swirl on the inside of the cup to the left of the upper handle.
