Sterling silver powder compacts silver wedding anniversary gifts. The unmistakable quality of a fully hallmarked W H Manton sterling silver & rose gold thumb catch powder compact, assayed at Birmingham in 1960. The maker is famous for this style of compact. The lid, sides, inner lid & base have smart engine turned designs made up from tiny diamond shapes. The workmanship is excellent from the concealed hinge to the beautiful textured rose gold thumb catch. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. Image one shows the beautiful rose gold thumb catch, gilded bezel & inner lid. The whole compact is in very good condition. The powder well is gilded & houses the original sifter which is also in good order. Image two shows the lid & four the base. This vanity comes complete with the original felt lined protective pouch. Measures 7.3 cm X 7 cm & it weighs 151.3 grams.
